Tame Your Triggers

—Do you get triggered easily? - then react the same way each time and wish you didn't?
—Do you beat yourself up or put the blame on the other person?
—Do you go into a spiral of overthinking?

And you want to:

—Respond differently

—Be more in control

—Get the results you want


Usually when we are triggered, it is not about the immediate situation we are in. It’s more often than not because of the unresolved emotional/childhood issues that lie beneath the surface.

Just like a weapon loaded with explosives and ammunition, you are loaded with the suppressed emotions and beliefs about yourself from the unmet needs in your childhood. Without being able to release the suppressed emotions or unmet emotional needs safely, you will continue to succumb to your triggers by either withdrawing or continuing to resent whoever triggered you.

Without resolving the underlying trauma, you end up perpetuating a sense of victimhood.

There's a healthier, more empowering and more helpful way to respond to your trigger.

By seeing your triggers in a different light - as a way of showing you that there are parts of you that want to feel seen and met.

Once you learn to do that, I guarantee you that you will get less triggered and when you do you will respond differently.
