Improve flexibility. Release tension. Increase energy flow.

  • Are you tired of feeling tension, stiffness, or discomfort in your body?

  • Have you been looking for a practice that not only relaxes your mind but also energises your body?

  • Do you want to be more flexible and move with more ease?

  • Do you want to breathe better?

If you’ve answered Yes then this 7 week course of FLEX AND FLOW, a fusion of myofascial release and Yin yoga, might just be what you need.

What is Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a manual therapy technique that targets the fascia, a dense connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs throughout the body. Fascia can become tight, restricted, or adhered due to factors such as poor posture, immobility, injury, inflammation, dehydration, hormonal imbalance, chemical imbalance, repetitive movements, aging, diet and lifestyle.

This tightness can lead to pain, discomfort, and limited range of motion.

During myofascial release, gentle pressure or sustained stretching is applied to the fascia in and around the target area in order to release tension and restore the flow of energy.

In this course, balls and Yin poses are used as tools and techniques to apply myofascial release.

What is Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that focuses on stretching and targeting the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, tendons, and fascia, rather than the muscles.

In Yin Yoga, poses are typically held for longer periods, from 2 to 5 minutes or more, allowing for a deep and passive stretch.

Yin yoga can help increase flexibility, improve joint mobility, release tension, and cultivate a sense of inner peace and relaxation.

Benefits of Myo Yin Yoga:

The combination of myofascial release and Yin (Myo Yin) Yoga can help to:

  • Experience tension release through deep relaxation as you target specific muscle groups, allowing for greater freedom of movement, and reducing pain and discomfort

  • Improve flexibility and mobility by gently stretching and stressing the connective tissues and joints, giving you better range of motion and support for your posture.

  • Increase awareness of body sensations and breathing patterns, and learn and practice to breathe more consciously which in turns helps to regulate the nervous system better.

  • Increase fascial health and functions to maintain overall well-being and reduce stress.

Who can benefit:

Anyone can benefit from this course, whether you:

  • have a desk job

  • are constantly on the go

  • experience continual pain, stiffness or tension in your muscles and joints

  • want to improve flexibility and mobility

  • move better, relax more…and so much more.

Overall the practice is slow and gentle and can absolutely be adjusted to meet your needs and adapted to your body.

Suitability: all.
